New Delhi: The morals of were being taken to Smriti Sthal for the final preceedings. The cortege reached the Rashtriya Smriti Sthal, Vijay Ghat at 3:42 pm on Friday. The last rites were conducted according to Hindu rituals. The former PM has been accorded to th wstate funeral.

According to the sources, the heads of the three services of Indian Armed Forces had paid their last respect to the BJP patriach. Among the leaders, who paid their last respect to the Former PM were President Ram Nath Kovind, PM Modi, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj,Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Former Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai and Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

According to the information, the national flag drapped around the mortal of Atalji had been handed to Vajpayee's grand daughter. The last rites had been conducted according to Hindu customs. 

Vajpayee’s daughter Namita Bhattacharya leaded the last rites of the former Prime Minister. The former Prime Minister had been accorded a 21-gun salute. Former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee has been cremated at the Rashtriya Smriti Sthal, Vijay Ghat on Friday evening, at 5:10 pm.
