New Delhi:  The vteran politician, the Former PM and Statesman Atal Bihari Vajpayee died on Thursday evening due to prolonged illness in AIIMS, New Delhi. On Friday the mortal of Fomer PM was brought to BJP HQ ao that the general public could attend his last rites. 

According to the sources, as a mark of respect, many states declared a public holiday on Friday. All school, collegues and government offices remained closed on August 17th in states like Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Odissa, Bihar, Jharkhand,Haryana, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

 

Atalji was one of the most charismatic leader, who led the nation through several crises. Several states declared a seven days condolence, to pay tribute to the veteran politician.
